Welcome to Hippo Class we are a Foundation Stage Two Class. This term our learning challenge is "Which  plants would Little Red Riding Hood find in our allotment ?" .Our " WOW!" moment will be a visit to the allotment where the children will learn how to grow and look after plants. We will focus on  the traditional tales "Little Red Riding Hood" and "Goldilocks and the Three Bears". Our role play area is a home corner where children can pretend to make and cook food.   Our Jigsaw Theme (PSE/PSHE curriculum) is "Relationships " where we focus on the types of relationships we have in school and the family and the importance of  making and keeping friendships. We always think about our British Values and our focus this half term will be on "The Rule of Law " where the children will be continuing to use the School Rules and be aware of the importance of laws in society. We have  a book swap morning which in Hippo class is on a Thursday morning. PE will be on a  Wednesday Morning. PE kits will be needed for this. Please name all clothing in PE kits.

We have lots of exciting visits planned in our local area. We will be visiting the local shops on Monday 29th April to buy ingredients to make cakes in class. We will be visiting the local allotments on Thursday 23rd May and Friday 5th July. We will also visit Vicar Water on  Friday 19th July.

Homework will be based  on reading and sound recognition. The work will be sent home on a Friday and will be based on sounds the children will be learning in class.  When reading the children will gain stickers and certificates when they have achieved 25 reads at home and every 25 steps thereafter. You can monitor their progress on the poster found in the class window.
