Below are some useful links for at home learning.
In Tiger Class we always try our best and have a go even when it's tricky. We love a challenge and understand it's ok to make mistakes, that just shows we're learning! We are kind to all our friends in Tiger Class and we like to help each other. We're all superstars!
PE Days: Wednesday and Thursday (Children should bring have their PE kit in school. If your child has earrings please remove them or provide your child with plasters).
Homework is given out on a Friday and needs to be returned the following Wednesday. Children who return their homework on time will receive a sticker and a mark on the class homework chart.
Reading Books: Your child's reading book will be changed once a week. Our class reading chart will be displayed on our classroom window and filled in when your child reaches one of the milestones in their reading diary.
Where the wild things are
In Geography we will be comparing our local area (Sherwood Pines) to the Amazon Rainforest. We will be learning about the key features of the Amazon Rainforest and the animals that live there.
In Computing we will be learning how to use Word Processor and Powerpoint presentation.
In Art and Design we will be learning about the artwork 'The Tiger' by Henri Roussea and creating our own animal college inspired by his work.
In Music we'll following the Charanga Music Scheme- Zootime and performing this song using our voices and instruments. We will also learn about pulse, rhythm and pitch.
For RE our topic is 'Leaders' where we will about the importance of Jesus and Moses. We will also be learning about the British Value Individual Liberty.
In PE we will be playing invasion games and learning the dance 'Where the wild things are'
This half term we shall be focusing on the texts-Rumble in the Jungle and The Ugly Five. We will be learning about using punctuation correctly, different sentence types and how to use conjunctions . We will then apply these new skills when writing a story linked to Rumble in the Jungle and a persuasive piece of writing linked to The Ugly Five.
Living things and their habitats. We will be looking carefully at our wildlife area in the school grounds, how animals are suited to different habitats and learning about things that are living, dead and never being alive.
We will learning about measurement, addition, subtraction and position and direction. We will be learning lots about numbers and how to represent them in different ways. We will be practicing adding and subtracting numbers using concrete and pictorial representations. We will also be learning how to solve multiplication and division calculations, using our knowledge of counting in steps of 2,5 and 10.
Relationships. We will talking about what relationships mean and why it is an important part of our lives.
