Here are John T. Rice Infant School we are fully inclusive. The school community work in conjunction with one another in order to promote positive behaviours and a caring environment. Our school worked with the Anti Bullying Alliance and now we hold the 'All together Against Bullying award' at the silver level.
We value everyone as a whole and ensure that the children here understand what bullying is, how to recognise bullying and what to do if faced with a situation.
We have produced a leaflet in child-friendly language that explains bullying, which you can find below.
The children all take part in Anti bullying week and share this fantastic learning with their families.
Pandas (Nursery) - Discussed the importance of using kind hands.
Tigers (F2) - Discussed and drew pictures of of something kind they could do with a friend. The pictures are of playing with a friend, helping a friend when they have hurt themselves and saying something nice to cheer a friend up.
Koalas (YR1) - Discussed and designed an anti-bullying superhero thinking about what their super power could be.
Hippos (YR1/YR2) - Discussed, identified and sorted kind and unkind behaviours.
Orangutans (YR2) - Discussed and identified who they could ask to help if they were being bullied. Identified and recorded the different ways bullying could look and how it makes people feel. Identified and recorded what they would like in a good friend.
All F2 and KS1 children participated in an Anti-Bullying/ friendship dance workshop.
There are many useful resources out there to support children and families who are dealing with bullying. You will find some links below.
